Flora: Skyrocket Skyrocket Ipomopsis aggregata
Skyrocket is a five-part, trumpet-shaped red flower that appears in clusters on long stalks. Each flower is roughly two inches long. Though strikingly beautiful, this flower smells a bit like a skunk, hence another common name - skunkflower. Other names include scarlet gilia and desert trumpets. These individuals were photographed in New Mexico.
