American Toad Bufo americanus American Toad. When I lived in a rural area, not far from a pond, I saw dozens of these toads in my yard. It was a challenge to mow the yard without injuring one. Now that I'm in the suburbs and getting from the nearest ponds to my house requires a toad to hop across two or three very busy roads, I hardly ever see one. Pity. |
