Dutchman's Breeches
Dicentra cucullaria

Dutchman's Breeches is springtime wildflower and a member of the Poppy family. It is found in moist woodlands. Multiple flowers hang from a single stalk that rises above highly divided feathery (and poisonous) foliage. Alkaloids in the foliage can sicken cattle. As with many spring wildflowers, the foliage emerges earlier and lasts much longer than the blossoms.
