Location: Washington, D.C.
Narrative: In continuous use since 1799, and a major producer of weapons through the 1960s. The vast array of past activities resulted in contamination of soil, sediment, and groundwater. Remedial activities to date include soil removal and removal of contaminants from sewers and drains leading from the facility.
